Romans 12:1-2 KJVS
[1] I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
[2] And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

When we think of bible days and sacrifices, we often think of ancient days where some sort of animal is to be killed. In these verses, it’s referring to our living. It’s no coincidence that the word says to “present your BODY, as a living sacrifice”. Our body’s are the temples of the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit will not dwell in an unclean temple. This lets me know that one of the reasons we aren’t filled spiritually is simply because we have refused to sacrifice our bodies. We’ve refused to be cleansed/ purified. We often say that we are yearning and seeking a closer walk with God, and we’re willing to do for him except live righteous. We will go to church but we won’t give up our sinful nature. Have you ever wondered why your experience of God doesn’t seem as strong as others, or why you can’t feel him? Try looking at how you’re living. Have you really been living for him wholeheartedly? A sacrifice means to give up something for something else in particular. However, the great thing about sacrificing to God, is that you will get a greater reward. True healing and deliverance is on the other end of the sacrifice. In the end you will receive much greater than you’ve given up.
